Job Description :

The Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist is accountable for managing and collecting delinquent accounts receivable for an assigned customer base to deliver defined outcomes through Owens Corning key performance indicators. This will require relationship building and partnership with internal functions, such as accounting, credit, customer service, pricing, transportation, and sales.

The position reports to: Treasury Accounts Receivables Team Leader
Span of Controle: Individual Contributor


Knowing the Stakeholder and their strategies

Build relationships within the Treasury organization, cross-functionally, and with key internal and external stakeholders; ensure effective contact to remain aligned with functional objectives
Understand the strategic direction of the company’s businesses and execute functional strategies to support and enhance business results; be knowledgeable of the project work that supports this direction and implications to the business
Understands the relationships with our customers and understands what it takes to ensure their success

Executing the Strategy
Accountable for reducing delinquency for assigned accounts aligned with OC financial objectives, specifically:

Collection of past due balances, while maintaining a follow up system with notes, in accordance with established goals
Monitoring of process quality and testing root cause analysis to drive improvement
Customer/Supplier/Operations escalation management
Develop action plans collaboratively with credit and sales teams to maximize results and mitigate risk
Effective escalation of customer issues to credit and leadership teams with timliness
Collaborate with credit team to deliver insightful management reporting

Participate in cash forecasting for business units and customers supported (30 and 60 day forecast)
Present in monthly AR aging meetings
Analyze cash discount deductions for resolution; collect as appropriate
Maintain compliance with required internal controls and policies
Assist team members / back up / cross training

High Scool Diploma; bachelor degree desired
2 years experience with accounts receivable, collections, or cash application


Demonstrated achievement in prior roles and ability to be successful in a team oriented environment
Working knowledge of Mircosoft Excel, Business Intelligence (BI) and SAP or other ERP software
Knowledge of billing procedures and collections techniques (for example, skip tracing)

Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills with the ability to identify trends in data and drive to root cause
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, appropriate to audience
