Job Description :
Support the Team Leader in providing overall management and supervision of the Equipment Maintenance Team while developing their own knowledge, skills and abilities. This is a working position that will perform all the functions assigned by the Team Leader including preventive maintenance of DC equipment, monitoring of the refrigeration system, repairs, painting and carpentry, special projects, supporting all DC programs and upholding regulatory compliance.

Plan, assign, and complete general building maintenance tasks including but not limited to repairs and maintenance to the building, equipment maintenance repairs and preventive maintenance, painting, and various carpentry projects.
Create RFP’s for projects, participate in selection of vendors, secure bids from outside contractors, as required, and direct the coordination and inspection of completed work.
Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for maintenance functions.
Participate in cost/benefit analysis of maintaining equipment versus equipment replacement.
Participate in equipment selection process and act as expert in determining total cost of ownership.
Manage/prioritize work assignments and coordinate materials, activities and processes of maintenance team.
Communicate equipment operation, project status, damage/repair reporting on a continual basis.
Establish and maintain relationships with outside contractors/vendors.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Ensure proper maintenance of equipment service records and warranties.
Identify and facilitate the correction of safety hazards and pest issues in conjunction with the Safety Specialist.
Participate in Team Member performance feedback/evaluations as well as progressive disciplinary actions when needed.
Schedule, mentor, supervise and train new and existing team members.
Change batteries in powered equipment and perform necessary battery maintenance.
Operate and or maintain powered equipment, including pallet jack, fork lift, battery changer/charger, compactor/baler, pallet jacks, power washer, floor buffer, scrubbers, and cleaners, dock plates, hand and power tools, and safety equipment.
Troubleshoot issues identified by alarm codes.
Assist with physical inventory preparations and other duties as requested.
Report all life safety and fire hazards, along with any other violations of company policy, to Team Leader for correction and report all accidents and injuries to Team Leader or Facility Leadership immediately.
Responsible for adhering to, enforcing and observing proper dress code. Steel-toe or composite-toe shoes must be worn.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and corresponding safety precautions
Ability to use tools and equipment of the building trades skillfully and safely
Familiarity with power equipment including dock plates and doors, inside doors, and racks
Ability to understand complex written and oral instructions as well as safety and sanitation rules and take direction
Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with other Team Members, leadership, and vendors
Proven ability to be a team player in a fast-paced environment
Self-motivated with a positive attitude and able to work independently
Ability to prioritize, schedule, organize, and manage time and multiple priorities/tasks effectively
Ability to work well with others, self-motivated and capable of working independently with little supervision. Able to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the Distribution Center, including nights, weekends and holidays as required

Desired Work Experiences

3-5 years as maintenance supervisor in a warehouse environment
Knowledge of power equipment, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, painting and carpentry preferred
