Job Description :
Driver Managers will be responsible for the coordination of drivers and assets to create capacity and maximize productivity and efficiencies. Driver Managers will dispatch drivers and act as a reliable and responsive point of contact for drivers. DM’s will determine the best delivery methods and negotiate rates directly with vendors and customers when needed. The incumbent will also capitalize on growth opportunities and promote the expansion of current customer volume when an opportunity arises by providing exceptional customer service to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery.
2nd shift- 4:00pm – 2:00am
Monitor daily operations including modifying routes as needed to meet customer needs.
Develop driver schedules and routes for both pickup and deliveries to maximize driver hours and asset capacity.
Proactively resolve issues or obstacles that may prevent on-time delivery or reduce customer satisfaction including customer PO due date conflicts.
Communicate pertinent information to both internal and external customers timely.
Ensure drivers are within DOT regulations and other compliance standards to avoid penalties, citations or delays in delivery or pickup.
Continuously track and trace freight movement and resolve any barriers or challenges that may disrupt business and communicate details to the customer such as weather, delays or construction patterns.
Perform customer analysis to ensure proper attention is given to mitigating potential failures and maintaining customer KPI scorecard
Capitalize on new business through opportunity recognition for additional freight volume.
Identify creative solutions and continuous improvement opportunities to promote growth and increased service to support growing dedicated freight customers.
Collect, review and document all paperwork received for each trip.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills to support driver retention.
Ensure truck weekly revenue is adequate to achieve target driver pay goals, miles, and profitability measures through efficient route and load planning within compliance with federal and state laws.
Obtain necessary permits when needed.
Three (3) + years of customer services, logistics, dispatch, supply chain or transportation required.
Associates or bachelor’s in business, Supply Chain, Transportation/Logistics or related field preferred.
High initiative and high energy with a strong understanding and drive for a positive Customer Experience.
Ability to develop long-term relationships.
Proficient in technology including Microsoft Office Suite.
Confident verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Ability to manage and prioritize high call volumes and data and complex transactional and emotional customer situations.
Engages in behavior and activities that build rapport and trust within the work group and collaboratively works with a team.
Highly proficient in time management.
