Position Description
Electromechanical Mechatronics Instructor – Part-time
Department: Postsecondary and Workforce Education Status: Part-time, as needed Schedule: Flexible to meet the needs of adult students


Minimum of 5 years work experience in the industrial electrical and automation

technology field.

Ability to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, motors, transformers, motor

controls, VFDs, fluid power systems, mechanical drive systems, and PLCs.

Ability to use computer technology for communication and instructional purposes.
Pre-employment physical, drug screen, Acts 34, 151, and 114 clearances required.


Teaching and/or training experience preferred.


The performance responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to the following:

Instruct students in safety, print reading, tool use, electrical wiring, motors,

transformers, motor controls, VFDs, fluid power, mechanical drive systems, and PLCs.

Develop, revise, and implement the curriculum, as well as all necessary
supporting materials and activities, in accordance with established guidelines
and format.

Provide a safe learning environment.
Assist in designing, updating and implementing training programs and customized job

training that meet industry needs and standards.

Collaborate with industry Occupational Advisory Council to seek recommendations for

program and curriculum improvements, safety improvements and standards and equipment updates and purchases.

Prepare lesson plans.
Maintain daily attendance records.
Assess student learning on a regular basis; maintain reports and training records
Utilize a variety of instructional delivery methods in order to motivate students

and promote learning and engagement.

Develop and maintain appropriate classroom management strategies
Provide job placement information and assistance to students.
Maintain instructional equipment and provide for repairs as needed, in

collaboration with the secondary program.

Prepare and submit reports, information, and maintain inventory as required.
Maintain appropriate communication with the department with all operational

matters pertaining to the training program.

Adhere to all policies enacted by the Joint Operating Committee and guidelines

established by the Executive Director.

Other duties as assigned.

Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.

Model a sound work ethic and regular attendance.
Possession and demonstration of excellent communication and interpersonal skills
