Job Description :
H.M. Stauffer & Sons, Inc., a building components manufacturer, located in Leola PA, has an opening for an – EXPERIENCED – Forklift Operator in our Shipping and Receiving Department. SIGN ON BONUS!
Schedule:

Monday – Friday: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
OT available, based on business needs
CLOSED WEEKENDS!

Responsibilities and Duties:

Unload building materials and other supplies from rail cars and trucks.
Verify inbound shipments and record receipt.
Stock all material in designated locations, rotating existing inventory as needed.
Alert Supervisor to any potential inventory stock-out, quality, or safety concerns.
Pull, band, and stage orders in advance of shipment including cutting engineered wood products.
Load completed orders on trailers, verifying entire shipment.
Conduct routine daily maintenance checks on forklift equipment. Maintain forklift fluid levels.
Operate bander, hand tacker, and other equipment as needed to keep products secure and protected.
Keep area clean, organized, and safe: sweep, put equipment away, empty trash receptacles.
Assist with inventory control reporting any discrepancies and physical inventory.
Retain an awareness of the work environment critical to the task at hand to produce error free and damage free results.
Maintain a current forklift operator’s license.

Required Skills:

Product knowledge of lumber and building materials, preferred
Take measurements to the 1/16th inch using a tape measure
Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division; able to use a calculator
Effective written and oral communication skills (English)
Read paperwork and other documents (English)
Previous forklift training and experience with an accident-free record
Willing to work at heights up to 25 ft.
Able to follow directions and carry out instructions while also working independently

TESTING

Must pass forklift driving test at interview with a 11,000 – 15,000 lb. diesel lift
Safety Sensitive Position – Must pass physical/lift test/drug test
