Benefits
The Benefit & Leave Administrator is responsible for performing HR duties in a professional and confidential manner and works closely with management in supporting the enterprise. This position carries out responsibilities in the following areas: benefit administration, benefits policy implementation, qualifying life event and annual open enrollment, carrier invoicing and reconciliation, and benefit plan selection and implementation, and administration of ACA reporting.

Leave This role is also responsible for all facets of leave of absence administration & ADA. Leaves include FMLA (block and intermittent), Personal Leave, Bereavement, Military, etc. This position works with our third-party administrator, branch leaders, and the employee on coordination of all company leaves and accommodations as well as benefit and/or COBRA administration for employees out on leave. This role works with the Risk Management department when leaves involve workers comp disability administration.

Benefits

Provides information to employees regarding health insurance benefits, coverage options, and enrollment processes.
Responds to carriers regarding inquiries on coverage, claims, appeals, and subrogation.
Audits carriers’ records to ensure correct billing, identifies errors/issues, and submits corrections.
Responsible for written notification and collection of past due insurance premiums from employees on leave of absence.
Processes various forms and documents between employees, branch leaders, and insurance providers such as new enrollments, addition of new dependents, changes in coverage, and benefit terminations.
Uses HRIS system (UKGPro/UltiPro) to maintain coverage for employees, generate reports, and perform audits (e.g., dependent age out, spousal eligibility, etc.).
Administers COBRA for group health plans for terminated employees and employees on leave.
Oversees the set-up and and administration of qualifying life events and annual open enrollment for insurance benefits.

Leave

Administers the company leave policies when employees have a qualifying leave of absence from the workplace.
Provides information to employees at the onset of a leave.
Communicates updates to supervisors on employee’s leave of absence and/or return to work status.
Tracks past, current and future leave of absences in appropriate system or software.
Works with employees and supervisors to understand return to work policy and procedures.
Work with third-party administrator on leave documentation, including short-term disability.
Administers benefit billing/invoicing to employees while on an unpaid leave of absence.
Work with third-party administrator on handoff to COBRA while an employee is on personal leave of absence.
Ensures that leave of absences are compliant with industry standards and relevant laws.
Develops training programs and materials on leave of absence policy and implements updates accordingly.
Identifies areas of improvement in organizational leave of absence policy and prepares recommendations to HR Director.

Seeking 2 or more years of relevant experience.
