As a Career Consultant, you will work with a broad range of clients and industries in a stimulating environment, participating as an integral member of project teams to diagnose issues and design strategic solutions that support clients’ success

You will structure and direct program strategies designed to help clients attract, reward, and retain talent

We will count on you to:
Business Development

Partner with other senior consultants and client managers to identify target organizations in the mid-to-large market for Mercer Career services
Generate revenue through development of new client relationships and building and maintaining strong client relationships, which will ideally lead to opportunities for project extensions, cross-selling, and referrals to new prospects
Lead discussions with prospects and clients on Mercer’s value proposition and service offerings
Prepare proposals and present Mercer’s capabilities to a wide range of prospects and stakeholders
Work to bring opportunities to successful close; negotiate final engagement terms and execute Statements of Work (SOWs) and Engagement Letters

Project Delivery

Lead the delivery of Career Services engagements, including acting as overall program manager, peer reviewer and day-to-day client contact
Have responsibility for managing project economics – delivery on time and within budget
Manage delivery team(s) and ensure quality and value of all project deliverables for your engagements
Direct and oversee data compilation, research and analysis performed by team members on projects (e.g., cost and volume analysis, benchmarking, survey results, etc.)
Provide consulting services on broader Human Capital issues

Practice Contribution

Contribute to thought leadership, sales pipeline, methodology development and team working environment; be viewed as a leader and mentor to junior staff
Contribute to Mercer’s overall value proposition by building positive working relationships across the firm

What you need to have:

Bachelor’s degree required
At least 8 years’ relevant work experience in human resources/management consulting (with specific experience in compensation, communications, and/or HR/workforce transformation) with a professional services firm
Experience consulting with leading public and private companies in a variety of industries on any or all of the following: rewards (compensation strategy development, competitive pay evaluation, pay/performance links, annual and long-term incentive program design, equity strategy, change in control planning, mergers and acquisitions, board compensation); HR and workforce transformation (HR strategy development, HR technology, organizational effectiveness, organizational design and operating models, process redesign, HR shared services planning and implementation, insourcing vs outsourcing strategies, employee experience); and communication/change management (employee change communication strategies and work plans, employee engagement, promotion of total rewards programs, employee value proposition)
Content knowledge in the full spectrum of HR (i.e., talent acquisition, talent, rewards, performance, etc.)
Proven sales ability
Excellent analytical, writing and presentation skills
Strong finance and accounting skills
Proven project management skills and creative problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Superior organizational skills and strong attention to detail

What makes you stand out:

Consulting experience in multiple areas within workforce and executive rewards, communications, change management, HR transformation, and workforce transformation
Strong business and financial acumen
Strong working knowledge of core HRMS such as Workday, SAP, SuccessFactors, Oracle
Strong working knowledge of best of technologies in support of HR for Recruitment, Time and Attendance, Payroll, Rewards, Learning, Talent Management, etc.
Legal work authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis without the need for sponsorship now or in the future
