About this position:
The Program Facilitator is a key team member in a pilot workforce development program between JFCS Career Development Center and InnovatePGH. This collaborative aims to replicate key aspects of the West Philadelphia Skills Initiative’s (WPSI) nationally recognized workforce training program in the City of Pittsburgh. The program model works closely with University employer partners to understand talent needs and develop tailored training programs. Carefully selected cohorts of high-potential individuals are then trained to fill those positions upon graduation from the program. The program will recruit, assess, select, train and place residents from various Pittsburgh neighborhoods (Homewood, Hill District, Uptown, and Hazelwood) in career-ladder jobs with University employers that offer stability and opportunities for advancement.

The Program Facilitator will be integral to the recruitment, curriculum development, program delivery, and follow-up processes of IDSA training cohorts. They will provide leadership within the program through high quality, dynamic workshop facilitation and coaching, ongoing engagement of participants across cohorts, and the establishment of community partnerships to generate program interest. This individual will work to ensure every cohort participant has all of the necessary tools, resources, and support to achieve their goals and be successful in their careers going forward.

Minimum 4 years of professional level experience in the area(s) of business, training, employment, human resources, education, or related field.
Previous experience facilitating, training or coaching strongly preferred.
Skilled in public speaking and presenting in individual and group settings, both virtually and in person.
A general understanding of workforce and labor markets.
Humility in working with individuals from culturally, racially and gender diverse backgrounds.
Strong computer skills required, including Microsoft Office and CRM experience.
Strong organizational skills with an ability to multitask.
Detail oriented with excellent oral and written communication and writing skills.
A bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Screening

Work with JFCS and InnovatePGH teams to organize community-based recruitment efforts for each program cohort of 5-10 unemployed adults seeking career opportunities.
Regularly host and attend information sessions for interested potential applicants.
Conduct application assessments and interviews of potential applicants to aid in class selection for each cohort.
Work to ensure selected participants are seamlessly onboarded into program cohorts.
As part of onboarding, work to identify and reduce barriers to accessing and retaining employment to help participants find stability.

Program Delivery and Follow-up

Lead participant agreement meetings to effectively manage participant expectations, timelines, and next steps.
Serve as the main point of contact for participants throughout each program cohort.
Develop and facilitate high quality, dynamic curriculum to be delivered virtualty and/or in-person.
Conduct outreach to guest speakers and other community partners to ensure a well-rounded and engaging classroom curriculum for cohort participants.
Collaborate with the JFCS Employer Relations Specialist to successfully prepare participants for the interview process with selected employer partners.
Provide participants with consistent feedback on performance.
Conduct, individually or with community partners, ongoing one-on-one evaluations with program participants, including pre-and-post needs and literacy assessments.
Work with the Employer Relations Specialist around career pathways models to ensure alumni grow and achieve professional advancement within partner placement organizations.
Work with JFCS Career Counselors to co-create job placement solutions for unplaced participants.

Other Duties

Maintain accurate cohort data, including attendance rosters, evaluations, and other reporting documents.
Develop processes to track and evaluate participant progress over time.
Assist Director with reports and other analytics for current and potential funders.
Oversee community partnership collaborations, including participant referral outreach and tracking.
Along with other staff, represent the program to the community through outreach efforts, public speaking, and response to community concerns/questions about the program and participants.
Participate in ongoing check-in meetings to familiarize and feel comfortable with the cohort model.
Assume other related duties as assigned.
