Job Description :
Dr. Stahl’s Healthy Aging Lab focuses on the relationship between health behaviors and depression in older adults. Her studies examine how stressful life events including caregiving and bereavement may contribute to changes in behavioral rhythms and vulnerability to depression. Her interventions use technology and health coaching to encourage a regular routine of sleep, eating healthy, and physical activity. The WELL Study recruits older individuals that have experienced recent spousal loss; the CARE2 Study recruits older caregivers of persons with dementia; and the PSSP Study recruits recent stroke survivors. These groups are at high risk for depression because their daily routines are inconsistent with their biological clock (e.g., inconsistent sleep behaviors, sedentary behaviors, meal skipping). Both studies use technology for the monitoring of health behaviors. All members of the lab are integral to ensuring the success and progression of studies. The incumbent will be responsible for participant engagement and recruitment outreach, will work closely with our research team, and will provide keep detailed notes of participants’ progress through the trial and record meeting decisions. The incumbent will complete study administrative tasks, database entry and management, scheduling, submissions and modifications, and complete requests from PI.
The Res Project Coordinator WPIC will be responsible for ensuring day to day study operations, proper and timely participant interaction/participant tracking, management of staff, and will also execute various administrative tasks for several research studies in Dr. Stahl’s lab. Duties will include completing/ arranging participant screening calls, baseline and follow up assessments, conducting consenting procedures virtually and by phone, responding to participant questions or concerns by phone and email, entering referrals, conducting participant outreach for various studies, keeping accurate records of participant interactions, entering tracking data into the study databases, assisting with REDCap programming/entry, data cleaning/quality control, facilitating and arranging motivational interviewing/health coaching sessions (we can help facilitate MI training if necessary), assist with managing the health coaching team, managing patient device and trial participant calendars as well as mailing actigraphy devices to participants. In addition to working with participants, the Research Project Coordinator will also assist with many administrative tasks, data requests, create and modify reports, and complete requests from PI. The incumbent will be in close communication with the study team and will assist with aspects of new incoming grants/study set up and official reporting. The Res Project Coordinator WPIC will assist with participant outreach mailings, assist with study recruitment outreach efforts, complete IRB requests and modifications, assist with record keeping and official submissions and reporting (NDA, NIMH, etc), and attend/set up, as well as notate weekly team meetings.
This position is grant funded.

Maintain accurate records of project spending and funds available.
Coordinate the daily activities and special projects for department.
Coordinate scheduling of assessments.
Assist with quality assurance over all aspects of data collection and management, including data flow, data entry and verification, maintenance of all project databases, data security and confidentiality.
Provides regular supervision for junior staff.
Responsible for preparing and modifying IRB protocols, Regulatory Binders, and Standard Operating Procedures.
Communicate effectively with the research, clinical, and administrative staff related to this research.
Coordination of recruitment ie. Advertisements, tracking recruitment, and developing strategies to increase response in targeted populations.
Responsible for the submission of regular reports detailing the progress of the research, including NIH progress reports.


Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Business Administration or related area of study and three years of relevant research and/or clinical experience is required. Masters degree preferred.
Experience with research coordination preferred.
Experience with staff management preferred.
Experience working with older adults preferred.
